The Department of Energy is conducting a public meeting on Thursday, October 18 in Seattle to discuss the U.S. Department of Energy’s proposal to reclassify high-level radioactive waste at the Hanford Nuclear Site in Washington.
Background on USDOE Proposal:
The U.S.Department of Energy is proposing to reclassify the 'high-level' tank waste as low-level radioactive waste, and abandon it at Hanford. This comment period will determine the way clean-up will happen in all the remaining 161 tanks at Hanford Nuclear Site.
